We’ve Got to Go Back to Our Roots to Connect

In this clip, two Black women share how moving forward together means going back to our roots and connecting to a collective history and culture. One of the women shares that being able to connect to a collective will empower and seize agency over continued victimization. The disparities continue to exist, especially as long as Black people remain divided. The future is built on community.

For me, part of that rebuilding is about going back to our roots, going back to our ancestry and remembering what worked for us. We are a people of connectedness, divisiveness does not work for us.
