It’s Really Stressful

Listen as a Black daughter tells her mother that self-care is talking and hearing stories. She begins by commenting on how she worries she might have a stroke if she doesn’t practice self-care. She calls it urgent and dire and stressful. The best source of self-care she has is when she and her son and her mom tell stories and make up stories about fantastical worlds. It is an opportunity to see the world through her son’s eyes and create worlds where anything is possible.

That’s the healthiest place to be, right? To be in this like world-creation mode.
