Lockdown Had a Lot to Do with White Protests

In this clip, two Black women share their frustrations about white protest and opportunism to avoid lockdown and COVID by protesting. They recall how Black people have suffered and died as a result of police violence for years predating George Floyd. Yet, it was only in COVID that white people really came out to protest because lockdown forced them to see it and many engaged because there was nothing else to do. Now that the world is reopening, the protests and protesters are dwindling.

But now that the gates have been opened for people to go back to restaurants, for people to go back to gyms, for people to go get to be free out in the public, that heaviness is not there anymore…
