I’m Too Busy Taking Care of Everybody Else

In this clip, a Black woman police officer shares with a Black man police officer that she can finally take time to rest and take care of herself – and feels guilty over missed time too. She reflects on the impact of not having overtime as a result of the pandemic shutting everything down. She recalls that she never got weekends off before the pandemic and now that they don’t have as many events to cover, she can go home more often. It has been a restful and restorative opportunity for her to support her son and grandson and make sure she is also taking care of herself finally.

I probably haven’t had a legit weekend off in years.
