I Actually Think Nobody’s Taking Care of Me Except Me and God

In this affective and emotive clip, a Black man police officer shares his feeling of isolation. He discusses how the police department has implemented a “wellness unit” focusing on resilience. He observes how there has been a push to try and address policing as a profession but not police as people and the multiple intersectional identities they hold. While there have been efforts to hold the whole police person in their wellness objectives, there are still experiences that go unnoticed and leave officers feeling incredibly alone.
