In this clip, two graduate students discuss how they have used the pandemic and moment of racial protests to learn from family and engage one another. Living with family creates opportunities to have conversations and experience a variety of perspectives right from home. The pandemic facilitated a lot of those discussions and also led these two students to wonder: where does rest come from in those spaces? How do boundaries form there?
I feel like I’m learning a lot because we’re of course not a monolith and I’m just appreciating hearing based on someone’s identity and experiences their view on this situation…I feel like by way of this pandemic where we have been in our own little spaces and my space is with me and my family. I have been doing a lot of the organizing within.
