Listen as a Black sister describes to her brother how the institution she works for prioritizes people’s safety, unlike other major corporations that rush to open while the pandemic still rages just to make a profit. Health and safety take precedence for this institution, not just for their staff but also for their visitors and community members. She explains how she experiences immense pressure especially as other institutions reopen and there has been a heightened push to open to the community despite the fact that COVID-19 is still not under control.
I just think that these major corporations are putting profit in front of people, and, the institution that I work for, we’re total opposite. It’s all about people. We are not opening our doors.
