I Don’t Know How to Get the Vaccine

Listen as a Black frontline worker describes to his sister his difficulty in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Because he was considered an essential worker throughout the pandemic, he has been especially at risk to contracting the virus, making his desire to get the vaccine even more urgent and necessary. While others in the community and in the country as a whole are wary of the vaccine, he says that he doesn’t share those worries and opts to trust the system that created the vaccine. Unfortunately, at the time this interview was conducted, there were minimal community resources and supports toward getting access to the vaccine, causing immense frustration.

I don’t buy into all that. I want it. If it’s going to help me I want it right now.
