We Have to Fight for Our Lives

In this clip, listen as a Black brother and sister share their fears and anxieties over COVID-19 and its disproportionate impacts on communities of color. They reflect on how the new variant is broadcasted as increasingly harmful for Black people and how the media is portraying the disparity in care, which feeds their anxieties through increased fearmongering. COVID-19 is another terrible reminder of the inequity in our health care systems and impacts on Black communities.

We just can’t trust the health care system to really care for us in ways that will sustain our lives or give us greater quality of life. So we just have to dig deep with information that will keep us alive.
