“We can’t just do business as usual in the academy..Institutions like ours know that they have to continue to make the case that they’re needed, that there’s something they provide that is of value to the real world…All of that is part of what we’re trying to figure out especially with young students, including students of color, who are trying to figure out how to be in the academy, but do it, to your point earlier, do it in a way that’s much more holistic…If we can figure out a way to do that well, not only will we hail different kinds of students to this place, they’ll also be healthier while they’re here.
