Grad Students Afloat and Alone

In this clip, grad students talk about the challenge of maintaining social ties during the pandemic. They discuss how early in the pandemic, people tried to maintain connections through things like Zoom happy hours, but even that is not the same. Even more, grad students in particular are already isolated, and the pandemic worsened it.

Logging onto a Zoom meeting is not the same as like walking past somebody and saying “hi” in their office.
