Distance of Safety – Blue Painters Tape

Listen as one of the doctors who identified COVID-19 in the U.S. shares a memory from the pandemic and how she provided care to patients amid shortages and safety procedures. The blue tape was meant to mark safe distance because she couldn’t wear a mask because there were no masks. She remarks on how miraculous it was that she didn’t get COVID even through all that.

They put a piece of blue tape on the ground right outside the patient’s room and they said, ‘don’t go in there. Just stand on the other side of that blue tape and you’ll be fine because we don’t have enough masks for you.’
