Home Is Where the Heart Is

Listen as two Black women define home for themselves and where they find home. For one of the women, home encompasses a variety of feelings. For her, it is a concept or a memory where she is comfortable and familiar whether that be with her great-grandmother or her siblings or friends. The other woman describes home as where her heart is. No matter Both women agree that home is where their consistency is and that doesn’t necessarily mean it is rooted in a physical location but in a feeling they can return to and feel safe and seen.

I also define home as being one with self… Home is really a concept… this feeling that kinda sits in memory for me…with everything constantly changing… you gotta find home somewhere within self
