In this, a Black woman shares how her freshman year experience at the University of Washington was a difficult transition from growing up in very diverse spaces to being one of the only Black people in her major. She describes how she received promotional brochures and pamphlets about the university where there were mostly images of people of color. This advertised the university as a diverse space and, when she actually started her time at UDuB, she observed that the images were a misrepresentation of the actual population.
