In this clip, a Black woman shares how she has begun to talk more about race, setting more boundaries, and advocating for her experiences with her white friends. She describes how one of her white friends tried getting her to approach a parked police car and ask the officers why they were there. Earlier in her life she might have simply gone along with what her friend said, but in this situation, she was more intentional about saying no. She has begun to be more open about her experiences and engaging in conversations with her white friends about how her experiences are different from theirs because of race. While this has created some tension for some of her friendships, being able to share her life as a Black woman is a liberating.
