In this clip, listen as a Black man police officer shares with a Black woman police officer his feelings about how the defund discourse is wrong one. He observes how the discourse generalizes and tends to erase the accomplishments the officers have achieved in Seattle throughout the years.
And I totally understand when something happens anywhere, all of policing comes under the microscope of that but as a police officer it was a little hurtful that less than a year later… because of how the politics are we now need to be totally defunded and we’re horrible people when WE didn’t kill Mr. Floyd when WE didn’t have an incident traumatic like that but we get painted with the same brush
