In this clip, listen as a Black friend describes her desire to find an online creative community for people of color to share their art. One of her goals in 2020 was to engage in some art communities or find artists of color to create community with. While the pandemic dashed those hopes of doing so in person, she is still looking through Instagram influencers that might offer that connection and network to finding those grassroots and relatively obscure community events she enjoys.
You know what I really wanted to do 2020? Find some kind of arts/creative hub to connect with other arts/creative people, specifically POC. I have the feeling that it’s out there… I never got the chance to go and then they also stopped meeting up.
