Diversity Committee

Listen as a white friend describes her position on a diversity committee and how she talks to her Black friend for advice. She reflects on how she tries to balance her own racial education independently without putting the labor on her Black friend. Often, they have conversations and go over the materials together so that the white friend can best advocate and understand and talk about things with someone who isn’t white while also recognizing her positionality.

Some of it was also a struggle for me and also she’s my main support group so I would talk to [her] about it and be like ‘I’m struggling with this.’ Kind of more so to get the friend support
