It’s Made Me Look at Family Differently

Listen to this heartbreaking clip as a Black brother recounts to his sister how this year and pandemic made him look at his family differently. Unfortunately, even in the midst of COVID-19, their family has experienced a lot of grief because family members have died. He reflects on the recent death of their cousin who he had lost contact with and completely intended to reach out to but didn’t get the chance before he died. Dealing with such tragedy has changed the way he approaches family and what it looks like to be present with family even if they can’t share a physical space together.

I truly truly in my heart believe I have to be there more for family. Not even in a physical sense but just calling or texting or whatever. Just reaching out. Let them know that I’m here for them or let them know I need them there for me or whatever the case may be.
