It Feels So Unnatural to Not Hug My Parents Right Now

In this clip, the Director of the Resilience Lab tells of different stressors that affected her compounded by the pandemic. Her parents lived next door to a house that caught on fire and she had to troubleshoot with them at a distance to make sure they were okay. She recalls how she couldn’t hug them or invite them to stay with her for fear of COVID-19 and the toll it took on her family.

I remember I couldn’t hug them…there was so much helplessness during that time.
