Why Did We March as a Family for BLM

In this clip, listen as a mother and son discuss memories and motivations they have of participating in the 2020 BLM marches. The son describes a moment where an older woman began to cry because she was so happy to see him marching and that children were marching. His mother asks him more about why he thinks their family marched. He shares what he’s learned in school and in conversation with his parent about just how much systemic inequality exists and how it manifests in our lives.

She was so happy that I was as a kid out there fighting for it. She was just crying because she really liked that kids were marching.
