Participating in Capitalism While Hating It

Two Black business owners reflect on the legacy of colonialism and how they operate under the continued coloniality of U.S. capitalism. During the discussion, one of them points out the irony of being descended from enslaved Africans who were forced to build this country that she now “pay back the system that was built on” the backs of her ancestors. They encourage Black and Indigenous communites to continue to search for other economic systems to participate in rather than continue to give back to capitalism.

Have I ever been to a space that has not been colonized?
