Professional Mentorship

In this audio, listen as a Black woman shares how throughout her career, she hasn’t had a mentor and the impact that it’s had with her. While she does have peer mentoring and coworkers that have been able to work through things together, there has never been someone in the field with experience that has offered her necessary guidance. This is partly due to the small number of Black people in her line of work, and she is working to building more of a network throughout her career.

I can’t say that I’ve had a lot of mentors. And I think for me that’s been a little crippling because I haven’t had as many people to bounce ideas off of when I have different career questions…
