In this audio, listen as a Black woman shares the impactful moment where she participated in an ice breaker for Interrupting Privilege and, for the first time in an all Black space, identified as part of the LGBTQ+ community. She describes the moment as terrifying because in her past such an identity hasn’t been treated kindly. She observes the generational difference in how different identities are accepted which is encouraging and means that the world is changing. Yet, she also recognizes how racism and racial discrimination still occurs regularly which also reflects how little has changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
