This podcast was created during the CCDE Interrupting Privilege Podcasting Workshop during the summer of 2021. Several students and community members came together to learn how to tell stories using the podcasting medium.
In this podcast, two Black high school students discuss the impact of the different academic tracking programs in their school. They talk about what it looks like for Black parents to be involved in their student’s academic lives and the difference it makes to have parents who have the privilege or luxury to take time off work to be involved in that way.
It almost feels like if your teachers don’t care about you and no one else in the school cares about you because it just feels like they only care about white students.
